President Kagame today officiated the opening of Gorillas Golf
Hotel – a chain of hotels established ten years ago. It currently runs
hotels in Kigali, Musanze and Rubavu.
The Gorillas Golf Hotel in Nyarutarama is the 4th of the
chain and started operations this year. It has a capacity of 88 rooms
including two executive suites and one Presidential suite. The
conference room has a capacity of 200 people.
Owner of Gorillas Hotel chain, Emmanuel Rusera, thanked
PresidentKagame for his support of private sector growth. President
Kagame expressed his gratitude on what investment the hotel will result
in;
“We are proud to see Rwandans who have confidence to invest in themselves and their country. This investment will have benefits for our society through creation of employment and tourism. This is proof that no one will stand in the way of Rwanda achieving prosperity. We congratulate you and hope that many in the country will build upon this accomplishment.”

Although there are currently 370 registered hotels with 6700 rooms across the country, 31 have been graded and awarded stars.
Several hotels are expected to open in the next few years including Marriott hotel (5 star) with 251 rooms; Radisson Blu Hotel (5 star) which will run Kigali Convention Center as well with 292 rooms; Vision Hotel (4 star) with 157 and the Sheraton Hotel that was recently given a certificate.
There are also other a number of middle and lower range hotels under construction across the country.
